I’m genuinely concerned about AI browsers, chatGPT and image gen. I can take steps to remove it from our PCs, change OS etc. but our kids are going to grow up in a world where they are potentially going to be forced to use it. I’m going to have to teach them how to use it safely rather than avoid.

It'd be nice if people turned away from AI and Windows 11 so hard that Linux and Steamdeck see a surge. Maybe then we can get more AAA games to move away from windows and kernel level anticheats.

If that's your watch and not a friends/clients etc. you can unsolder a connection on the PCB and unlock a hidden countdown timer function. I think they used the same module for a few different watches and for whatever reason they disabled the timer on that one.

AI bros should adopt 'accoustic' or unplugged image generation. We used to (and we still do) type things like "ohfuck.jpg" or "trollface.jpg" and that was enough to get the message across.. why generate slop when you can hint at it? "will smith eating spagetti - no imagination - please love me".jpg

Working in a sleepy haze this morning. The kids decided that we sleep too much and put in a sustained 'early hours of the morning' offensive strike.

I've fitted an ancient DVD/RW drive to my work PC. I think I might go through any CD's I burnt through my time at uni before any of them succumb to data rot.

Hardware definitely stagnated for a time when Intel was unchallenged. Something isn't right in that my kids can play almost anything that isn't a super graphics intensive AAA release from 2020 onwards on their 3-series intel machines.

Working with an old i5-3330 PC today, it had a fantastic issue where it would work perfectly until you plugged in the network cable. Even with a second installed LAN pcie card. Plug in -> blue screen death.

Fixed now. Stupid Realtek drivers.

huh..photoshop 5.5 still works on windows 11. It's pretty similar to cs6 and even the filters list is mostly the same.
