Nearly every resident I spoke to today was glad that @nclgreenparty.bsky.social were out, helping to pick up local concerns and picking up litter.

There were a few friendly disagreements, but nothing like some of the vitriol you get on Twitter/X.

Real life isn’t X.

Now to address the casework!
We're all volunteers so we do it purely for the love of the game 💪

Ahead of @zackpolanski.bsky.social’s visit to the North East, here’s a reminder of @owenjones.bsky.social’s reaction when Zack told him about Greens winning in working class communities like South Tyneside and here in Byker!

Unfortunately we don't do dresses, but you can pick up a Zacktavist T-shirt from our shop!

This is a rare opportunity, only happening every 5-10 years. The time is now, we must get out and speak to communities and work to make hope feel normal again.

We are already out on the doorstep, but we need more volunteers to help reach more people 💚
Welcome to all of our new members, locally and nationally! 😍🚀

In Newcastle, we have all-out elections in 2026, meaning all 78 Councillor seats are up for grabs!

Maybe next time when @zackpolanski.bsky.social is invited, Question Time can run an extended programme?

We Greens have spent a long time listening on doorsteps and working hard in our communities.

No wonder, now we are getting some media coverage, that we have a lot to say! #bbcqt

I’ve often thought what I’d say if I had the opportunity to tell senior Reform politicians what I think of the damage they are doing to our society.

@zackpolanski.bsky.social speaks for so many of us!

Blame the politicians for what’s broken. Let’s elect more Green ones!

Geordies are Black and White and Brown. We are a city of sanctuary. We will always stand up for migrants and refugees, and anyone else the far right wants to make the focus of their hate ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
Yesterday, Newcastle stood united in solidarity against hatred and division.

The North East made a strong statement that the far-right doesn’t represent us.

CONFESSIONS OF A GREEN PARTY MEMBER

With all this chat of lefties being tempted to place their faith in the Greens, here's an honest account of what it's like to take the leap... (from someone who joined 3 years ago) 🧵👇

Leader of Newcastle City Council confirms at Cabinet that Newcastle will NOT withdraw from the Tees Valley incinerator project despite the majority of the councillors voting to do so.

Even more disappointing, there wasn’t even a commitment to move away from incineration in the Council Plan.

Why are Newcastle Labour tying us in to a contract that forces us to burn vast amounts of recyclable material for literally decades into the future, against the wishes of the majority of councillors?

The vote went our way! Newcastle Council has voted to ask the cabinet to withdraw from the Tees Valley incinerator.

Cross-party support won despite the Labour Party trying to stand in the way.

The voice of residents is slowly being heard in Newcastle.
Nearly two years ago, I rocked up to Full Council as a resident to raise questions on health, finances and sustainability regarding the contract with a new incinerator (see the video).

With inflation and policy shifts, concerns remain. Tonight I’m backing a motion to council to think again.
