I mean that if I sit down with an instrument and try to work things out myself, I can at least begin to understand the theory, or get a feel for what needs to be done (and play) through trial and error (probably a LOT of error!).

The latter, unfortunately! Oddly, my son (who in many respects has brain chemistry--not to mention Celiac, which can also cause "brain fog"--like mine) soaked it right up. I don't know if it's because of ADHD, but I learn better by just doing things like music until I figure them out on my own.

I'm pretty sure it snowed just a bit (maybe kind of slushy) when I was there. Everything just looked festive and beautiful.
But 30 years?! (I do understand why one might not want to return to certain places, though.)
I'll expect a limited-character essay on "The Dead" from you by Friday. :)

Wait--seriously?! Basically usually whiskey, lemon, and honey (I think)--maybe w/some cinnamon or nutmeg, all heated up (preferably sipped by a fire when it's snowing). But now I'll need to check that! "The Dead" is one of my favorite stories.
I don't recall Belfast as being QUITE so Christmas-y.

When it hurts my brain to read or watch anything about Trump, et. al., I figure it's just healthy either way--ADHD-related or not! And music theory (even though I love music)--I figure that's definitely ADHD-related. :)

I knew about the pagan thing (which doesn't justify FL trying to shut it down!), but I DIDN'T know it started in Ireland! Christmas in NYC is wonderful too, but in Dublin you can ask for a hot toddy at a pub & they do it without blinking an eye! :) It also reminded me of Joyce's "The Dead."

I've gotten to the point where I have to skip over news stories about it, because I've started too many days crying about it for two years now. I despise Bibi more than anyone in the world...even...yanno... And that's saying a LOT.

Me TOO!! I didn't know it was big in Ireland. In Florida, they tend to see it as pagan and wicked... Damn I'm glad to be out of there! I'll need to come see how it's done in Dublin (they do an excellent job with Christmas!).
