My experience is that one shall never ever buy new technology to get something better. There are always some disappointments. One can buy new technology when old devices break. Otherwise one should absolutely always stick to what one has.

I love it when I'm so utterly wrong. Just looking at the picture, I at first thought it might be European Art Nouveau or possibly some Japanese Meiji screen. And it turns out to be about as far away as one can imagine in both space and time.
