Cancel data upgrade If you need to cancel a running data upgrade operation, you can do so from the Business Central administration center. To cancel a running data upgrade, navigate to the Operation Details pane from the Environment Details or Operations page and select Cancel update next to the operation status. Canceling a running data upgrade operation stops the process and restores the environment to its state immediately before the data upgrade started. Depending on the size of the environment database, this process might take more than an hour, during which the environment isn't accessible.

🆕 Important:
Microsoft doesn't recommend using the username and password flow because it will be asking a user for their password directly, which is an insecure pattern. Microsoft Entra ID and Windows authentication are more secure alternatives. You should only use username and password authentication when Microsoft Entra ID and Windows authentication aren't viable.
