(Inner Monologue from the perspective of Silver the Hedgehog) For a while, I tried my best to ignore it. This fleeting sensation in the back of my head that something was wrong. Something had broken, long ago. An injury so devastating that the bone never set correctly again, but instead of flesh and bone, it was my very existence. Fleeting memories would come and go. No matter how many times I'd try to right the past, the future was never safe for long. I felt a deep, lingering despair. As time went on, each time I went back to help my friends, their faces became more and more unfamiliar. Each trip through time made me feel as though my being was on a thread that was slowly unraveling. I decided it would be for the best if I gave it up. Remaining in the future - ... I never realized that I spent so much time in the past, my present simply became "the future"... But how could it not? The past had consistency. It had familiar faces. For every ruined future, every fixed past created an entirely new set of events that eventually led back to me. Somehow, I'd become trapped. A fixed point in history. Was this really meant to be my purpose?
