The Battle of Polytopia Finals are taking place this Saturday in Stockholm (and online).

This is something I was worried about. The backlash to Other M was so over-blown that Samus just isn't allowed to be a character anymore. Samus in Dread was the same - cool action scenes but no substance at all.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is the best video game of 2025. It's a beautiful maze to unravel and the most creative shooter campaign since Titanfall 2. I adored it.

You can add Indie PR on to this as well. With a lot of journalists having to focus on big names to get traffic, really interesting games and industry figures that haven't had the chance to get noticed continue unnoticed :(
I've been doing this all year but indie journalists have the same issues as indie games. Unless it's a big name, nobody cares.
