My ongoing issue with vegans. They are reasonably against feedlots. But happily killing crazy amounts of wildlife to defend industrial plant based agriculture from sustainable animal integrated food systems.
You’re misusing the 10 percent rule. It applies to animals eating human-edible crops in industrial systems. In regenerative systems they eat biomass we can’t use; grass, scraps, residues; and turn it into soil fertility. They’re not competing with plants, they’re processing what humans can’t eat.

I read your FP link. It critiques industrial meat; grain-fed herds, deforestation, monoculture; not regenerative livestock. My model isn’t “more meat,” it’s animals upcycling waste, restoring soil, and replacing synthetic inputs. Your efficiency math doesn’t apply to that system.

That’s the wrong question. Regenerative systems don’t require “cows per human.” Most people wouldn’t have cattle at all. Animals are used where appropriate to close nutrient loops, not assigned one-to-one like Pokémon.
