I like to watch movies and TV a little too much. He/Him. Formerly @sortathatguy elsewhere. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It seems everyone has been reacting to that Josh O'Connor and Bridget Everett scene in WAKE UP DEAD MAN in the best and correct way. Her perfect stealth casting alone should garner this movie a Best Casting Oscar nom. Keyword there is should, not saying it'll happen.

I cannot comprehend this loss. I'm literally shaking. For a time there in my youth, "A Few Good Men" was my definition of a pretentious (complimentary) answer to what my favorite movie was.
The run that Rob Reiner went on between 1984 and 1992 is one of the most amazing hot streaks any director has ever had. Legendary stuff

Excited to see SINNERS in IMAX finally.

I think I can finally say this... I liked WICKED FOR GOOD better the second time but one thing that's annoyed me even now is the choice to make "For Good" the song/moment the least cinematic of all songs in both films. It felt like they just put a camera on the leads as if they're on stage. (1/2)

WAKE UP DEAD MAN is quite an astonishing movie. Perhaps it's the lapsed Catholic in me but my goodness ALL THE FEELS mixed in with a cracker of a mystery. Josh O'Connor is utterly magnificent.

The Jon Hamm dancing in the club meme has me listening to a bunch of remixes of 90s songs and it has improved my day by a lot.

Almost shocking to applaud something James Corden has done but he really does steal the show on the Broadway play ART (from co-stars NPH and Bobby Cannavale). You are reminded he won a Tony in a comedy. He had the audience in stitches.

I like that tonight's #AmazingRace finale, which took place in NYC, got to travel to all the boroughs. Wait, Staten Island, what's that? I don't know her.

I love both One Battle After Another and Sinners, but if you don't think they're doing at least as much to work you over and get you to a certain emotional place as Hamnet is, I don't know what to tell you. There's no rule that it's okay to go for your adrenaline but cheating to go for your tears.

Having just now seen the surprisingly excellent PREDATOR: BADLANDS, I have to wonder... has anyone done a Dek and Thia video set to "For Good" from WICKED? I need it.

I think the Netflix deal is ultimately better for movies and for WB than a Paramount deal (which I 100% believe would end WB) or a Comcast deal (which would take the two best-functioning studios in Hollywood and reduce them to one). I'm open to arguments, but "None of the above" isn't one.

Just saw the anniversary reading of THE LARAMIE PROJECT and I was the dumb one who didn't bring any tissues. It's still such a powerful and sobering work. And what a cast. If you're in NYC, this is going on through Saturday... audiblexminetta.com/shows/the-la...

Wait okay but I didn't expect ETERNITY to be really good though? Maybe I had Miles Teller blinders on so I prejudged it too quickly but he actually made me cry? And Elisabeth Olsen is stupendous; nevermind the comedy duo of Da'Vine Joy Randolph and John Early. But also, ugh, straights, amirite?

I have two closets in my room. One of them is just half Christmas decorations. Taking them all out today made that realization even funnier. But also decorating a new place is... annoying? I don't know where anything should go!

It begins! While not all of their picks would've been mine, I can't say they didn't do a superb job. Now the question... is anyone here going to sweep to Oscars? Methinks it's possible for ONE BATTLE for Picture, SECRET AGENT for International and KPOP DEMON HUNTERS for Animated. Maybe Del Toro too?

👀 but also I hope this is just to play some doubles with Venus on the ramp up to on Venus' own retirement. Not that I want them gone (heavens no!) but there's a gracefulness to having an set end too.

Ventured out on this dark, chilly, wet day to see MARJORIE PRIME on Broadway and all I'll say for now is... June Squibb, the fucking star that you are.

Just saw a recent Academy Award nominee watching an Off-Broadway play with a worse seat than me. I was Orchestra Left and they were Center but they were behind a hella tall person and had to keep moving their head to see. Anyways I did feel bad. As a shortie, I felt their pain.
