it would be even more interesting if it was not flooded by all those dams on Vltava river. there are 9 of them in total. Kamyk is the one in that area

It's a place called Solenicka podkova, around 50km south of Prague on Vltava river (Czech republic)

Do you like drinking tea in nature? I love it. Yesterday, we went to this amazing place around 30km away from our house and had our favourite High Mountain Gaba oolong tea from Taiwan.

Another experiment with decoration of porcelain pots. This time Amaco underglaze pencil. It works really well, but I should not use regural pencil for a sketch next time. It was mixing with the underglaze pencil, making it difficult to see clear lines

A little project I did on a great mold making and slip casting workshop this year. Inspired by japanese zen gardens, dry rivers etc.
That tray is handbuilt stoneware and the cups are slipcast porcelain with some extra work on the edges

I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your thought process.

Feeling blue? Have some tea :)

I bought this juniper at a bonsai show here in Prague for 3 Euros. Wanted to put it in the ground for several years, but then decided to use one of my small pots and see if I can keep it alive like that. It dries really fast...

Thank you. I think it might work really well on larger pieces where you could squeeze out a bit more of that paint. I was trying to get as thin line as possible on the small pot.
But it could be also my lack of experience and skill :)

I really love making fantasy maps like the one here (in progress since 2023 maybe :). So I decided to try it on a bonsai pot. Used a Mayco liner, but it's pretty difficult making lines while squeezing the bottle. Will try a fine brush next time...

More bonsai pots... the rectangular one got warped quite a lot in the firing, but can at least stand straight after some grinding.
I tried different clay on this batch, but prefer the dark one from the previous

yeah, i usually make 6 wire holes (2 at each feet). it's not visible in that photo, but you get the idea

Well, I make very little amount, so I am not actively trying to sell them yet. I joined local bonsai classes recently and sold few pots there to much more experienced bonsai people there, mostly to get valuable feedback :)

Thank you!

Thank you. I hope that too. It's always such a nice feeling to see a tree planted in one of my pots :)

Thank you! Diameter is between 13cm (turquoise one) to 17.5cm (blue one). So they are quite small

I finally managed to fire some new bonsai pots. Trying different clay and glazes

Here are some of the porcelain bonsai pots. I have to figure out a better way to support them in the firing, because they got deformed around the feet (making them look more triangular than round)

Yeah, that's my philosophy. Just make another and another and each one should be slightly better than the previous one.

I don't really despise it, i think it will be usable for my plants. And it's good to keep some of those earlier pieces to see the progress (to have some motivation)

They were. But i think my cutting technique need some improvement, because when i started assembling the pieces, there were already some small gaps here and there...

At almost every step I was thinking that there has to be a better way to make these things :) and there probably is.

I wanted to focus on straight lines and nice polish. No matter how hard i tried, some of walls were still a bit crooked (deformed) and the whole thing feels a bit.. i don't know the right word.. rough maybe

I'm trying to learn (slab) handbuilding. I feel soo clumsy :) it took me several hours and I still don't like the result.
But it's time to move to a new one and do better...

Finally printed my first stamps today. I dont know anything about 3d printing really, but it became so simple (and cheap) that I just had to try.

Making test tiles...
