The roses are starting to open. I just need the north westerly winds to drop so I can get the summer bedding plants in. The dahlias are showing green shoots 🤩.
Southern Hemisphere ... ready to plant cosmos as soon as the spring winds drop. The bees will have to make do with lavender for a little longer
Mr 7 announced it was a Nana and Poppa day ALL day on Thursday because of the strike. I asked what a strike was. He announced the teachers were battling the government for more money so more people wanted to teach children to read , write and be good people. His teacher is doing a good job
I made marmalade and picked some carnations from the garden and decreed it spring by changing the winter sheets for cotton. I feel very domesticated
Hate it with a passion. Please can we set the clocks at a time and leave them alone. Happy to have daylight savings or summer time whatever you want to call it but please please please just leave it there.
23 Quid for half a ball of yarn a scrap of ribbon and a handful of stuffing! I hope there is a pattern somewhere 🤣
I have just finished the orange and blue hat with the 'scarf' and pompom for Mr 5 and a half . All his choices. I was very unsure about this one but it came together ok I think.
Festivals sound wonderful!
I have worked that hat pattern several times in pinks for our granddaughters. I wouldn't have picked it for a boy. Mr 5 was spot on though with that lovely merino yarn it came out really well.
Now I am thinking of beef dripping on toast . A treat from childhood
Lambs heart stuffed with venison sausage in a mushroom gravy with mash and veggies . I have never eaten wallaby. Is it lean like venison?
Mr 5 chose the yarn, pattern and pompom from the wool cupboard . He was so excited with the result he couldnt keep still for the photo.
That was such a treat. I only had a short lens walk about lens on the camera so felt lucky he chose to come so close.
Thank you . It was a beautiful evening .
I would love to buy in store but small town prices are too high. I stock up when my favourite wool mill has a sale on
I find yarn calls out to me. It is made cosy in my stash until a project presents or a grandchild falls in love with it . Sometimes their choice of yarn and pattern is not my choice but they love the result of their adventure in the wool cupboard.
I asked if I could have the old person discount in reduced to clear , the cashier said 'already entered it' didn't even ask for the gold card RUDE
My 40 somethings think they discovered Led Zep, Pink Floyd and Monty Python.
What a beautiful space to work in
