My first RC thread:
This weekend I played my first RC in Bologna. I finished 62th with a final score of 10-4. I'm really happy with my performance and my plays during this weekend. I also bought a new playmat that looks super cool. @fireshoes.bsky.social

Played an RCQ yesterday and made top 8 but lost in quarter. I played super bad in the rounds but my deck carried me to victory. I played the same list as for the Store Champs.

Played 2 store champs this week. I played Izzet Cauldron in both of them because the deck is broken. I managed to split both finals and get two Fables.

I did not top 8 both days. I mad some misplays and did not deserve to win most of the game I lost so I am fine with it. Next time I seriously play in modern I'll probably make sure to play a good deck.

That being said the deck is still really bad, your threats outside of frog are not good (if you want to play frog play Esper Blink) and your answers are really all over the places to try to cover all the meta. You also struggle a lot to beat Blink, Tron and Affinity.

It is also really good with Tamiyo (flip it on its own) or frog, you can discard all to frog draw 2 discard 2 and then re draw 2 with the frog trigger to make your frog really big in fast match ups.

Sometime you keep hands with no threat and just 1 for 1 your opponent until you are both in top deck mod and Riddler is your best card in those games.

I play Dimir Midrange with Riddler and it fix a lot of problems of the deck (it is still bad). Riddler let you have card advantage even if your threats are answered. It also make the keep of control hands way better.

Played a two day destination qualifier this week end. It was two 5 round tournaments with 2 RC slots each. I choose to play Dimir Midrange because I was only comfortable with it and Prowess but didn't want to play Prowess.

The tournament was a ton of fun and I feel like the recent bans are really pushing the format in a good direction. I finish 10th with a score of 4-2 I was rather happy since it was my second time playing the deck and I felt like I played pretty well most of my games.

Played a 48 players Dual Commander tournament this weekend. I played Aragorn because it is my new Dual Commander deck. The deck is a ton of fun and is everything I love about magic, you interact a lot, play hight quality cards and have a lot of choices.

Played an Edge of Eternity prerelease yesterday. My pull wasn't very good and I probably misbuilt my deck. Played a Orzhov Midrange deck with a curve and removals. I ended up in 2-1.

I'm not sure yet if I'll go to RC Antwerp to try the Last Chance. I have a lot of friends who are qualified, so it could be a fun trip, but it will probably depend on what other tournaments are happening around that time and how confident I feel with Modern.

I feel like I didn’t make the best deck choice for the season and I also wasn’t serious enough with my training. I’ll try to improve in these areas next season and aim to qualify for the next RC in Standard.

Played my last RCQ of the season this Sunday. I played Izzet Prowess because it is the deck that I know the most. During the tournament I played super bad, probably my worst tournament in a long time. I punted at least 3 games.
