I am sad that I cannot play #BirdOfTheDay today, for I have no tits, blue or otherwise. Nor have I #gannets. Here is a shy American Bushtit, ever the wallflower, on a hollyhock.

An Eastern Gray Squirrel has to be ready to guard its nut 🥜 as other squirrels may want to chase it away from the food. Also, unfortunately, there are a few dog owners who let their dogs off leash at the park against signage and common sense.

Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea)
is a big part of the landscape here in the Pacific Northwest, growing at the edge of our forests on the wet side of the mountains.

This plant is where the heart medication digitalis was derived from, and can be highly poisonous to livestock and humans ingesting it. Digitalis, or foxglove growing on a wet slope amidst colt’s foot leaves at the edge of an alder forest.

The hummingbird sits within an easy reach of the hanging baskets and can also keep a watch on approaching adversaries for the hummingbird feeder. They guard their nectar sources fiercely.
