When your car decides you need a new book 😂 @waterstones.bsky.social
Can’t beat a walk in the sun to clear your head and prepare for another week of teaching especially when you can see the Kelpies on your stroll.
Mine was Terry Pratchett it also helped that he had books like trucker, diggers etc that were that younger audience so it was an easy switch.
What was the book or who was the author that made you re-fall in love with reading as a teenager? There is that age of 12-14 where pupils get stuck with reading as they can’t find that transition between junior fiction to beyond and just stop reading. So what kept you reading? @bsky.app
A walk with my girl Arya this morning before it gets too hot and while the pavement is still cool enough for her paws.
Tomorrow is one of my most favourite days of the school year. Our story stones creation day. Love watching our s4 pupils engage with fairytales they were told when they were little and now creating materials to bring the stories to life for p1 pupils in some of our cluster primaries.
Spring vibes curtesy of a lovely gift from one of my higher pupils.
Looking forward to highlighting my work at St Mungo’s both in the English department and beyond. I work a lot with promoting Literacy within the school. Supporting mental wellbeing and all things Pastoral. I also love all things creative and try to use tech to support my pupils.
