Two monitors beat an ultra-wide every time.

After using an ultra-wide monitor for 6 months I switched back to 4K and 5K displays side by side. It's WAY better.

The ultra wide was non-retina (so blurry) and there are no natural screen "divisions" for windows. Two screens FTW!

Deciding when to update a product or let it be is challenging.

As a multi product company, I want to improve all the things all the time but that's not possible. Even companies as big as Apple struggle to keep their products all updated.

An interesting observation from vibe coding is that it's allowing me to skip the design phase and go straight to code.

I used to fire up Figma mock up UI, but now Cursor can generate UI so quickly I design as I prototype.

I just released my first vibe-coded app ROCK PLANNER for iPad, and it was SO MUCH fun. I haven't enjoyed writing software this much in years.

Rock Planner is my attempt at a new iPad daily planner app built for Apple Pencil. It integrates with your calendar and makes creating daily notes a cinch.

We are working on a next generation screen sharing app for designers and developers that features:

🖼️ Incredible 1-to-1 image quality
🎨 Full color fidelity
⚡ Extremely low latency
🕹️ Multiplayer by default

Interested? I'd love to get some early teams to try it out. DM or reply

We've been anticipating major tariffs for months and have been working hard to reduce manufacturing costs.

However, I'm hearing about other brands that are in deep trouble... especially ones using stainless steel in the products which is getting hit hard

Tariffs making it really hard for businesses to plan, especially "small tech" like us. So we're holding off on a lot of hiring, and I know we aren't alone in that.

I spoke with Alicia Wallace at CNN about it earlier this week, more in this article: www.cnn.com/2025/03/07/...

A brilliant episode of @ditheringfm today.

@benthompson laid out the best case I've heard for how Vision Pro can succeed as a product.

Simplify Vision Pro and sell it as a display for the Mac. It makes so much sense!

Eventually, it could be standalone, but it's not there yet.

Running Cursor and Xcode side by side really makes my 5K monitor feel small. I think I need a wide screen for all this AI coding

You know what would be awesome?

AI code reviews on Github pull requests.

Is anyone working on this?

I'm hacking on a Rails project again and as I run these tests I'm again forced to ask..... Why is Ruby still so slow even on a M1 Mac?

Running a small business is great because it allows you to just do things your way. For instance, we shut down every year between Christmas and
New Year's, a recharge I needed recharge before 2025.

So 2025 let’s go! Lots more new products coming from Astropad this year. I can’t wait to share more.

I've always thought that what would disrupt Apple would be something unexpected, something that doesn't fit the app first model.

Now we know what it is: AI

I need two screens now:

- One for Xcode
- The other for Cursor

It's still crazy to me that 5 years ago nearly every designer was using InVision, they reached unicorn status, and now they are just......shutting down.

I'd love to know more of what actually happened – it can't be just competition from Figma.

I just started playing around with Cursor and SwiftUI and it's soooo fun. The speed at which you can prototype is absolutely amazing.

I haven't had this much fun programming in years

So how long until Vision Pro gets cancelled?

After Tim Cook retires and a new CEO comes in? Sooner?

After trying to edit bookmarks in Chrome and ads on Google Ads

It still shocks me after all these years how bad Google is at UI
