When you read this Guardian article, it’s worth bearing in mind that between 2001-2005, trawlers caught in excess of 500,000 tonnes of sardines and anchovies in these waters - every year.

And you wonder why the penguins are starving to death.

Put another way: if you say out loud climate change is real and advocate for fossil fuel phase-out, you are officially via this doctrine an enemy of the United States of America, which also asserts it is legally allowed to kill anyone, anywhere, for whatever reasons please the President.

Now what?
Official, on-paper, United States policy is that the price of appeasing it is to consent to a species-level murder-suicide pact.
This is how we all die.

Guys, mainly, I need your help. This is a thing and we need to call it out. We all know men who punch down with sarcasm to score petty points / boost their fragile egos. It's wrong and can shape the lives of those on the receiving end. It's not 'banter' and deserves challenge. How can we do this?
Reflecting on the microaggressions that women regularly encounter - in my case mostly from older men - when they have visible success or exhibit confidence. Often dressed as a 'joke', but more a subconscious desire to put me in my place. And it sucks. Suggestions on how to address positively pls...

‘They’ being variously people of colour, Jews, Romanians, the EU, the BBC, Dulwich College alumni, Coutts, the left and Bernard Manning.

Never Russia though, oddly.

Is this something pathological?

Just a vicious, lawless regime.

The spectacle of masked gangs of state vigilantes, ripping people out of cars in full view of the street, is a terrible reminder of how quickly the unthinkable can become normal in a democratic society.
Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

This is a great piece, and not just because it says nice things about BusinessGreen. Mainstream media failure to understand and explain the climate implications of so many political and policy stories is a serious failing - and if anything it is getting worse.

The biggest climate stories often aren't labelled 'climate' - so newsrooms miss them
Last week's Budget provided a perfect example of how the mainstream media has a huge blindspot when it comes to the climate crisis and the policies that are shaping it
