New study shows people who took a causal inference class are better at reasoning about data. Asked if they have any policy recommendations, authors narrow eyes, look at reporter, and reply "Absolutely none"

The #AlcoholIndustry shouldn’t be involved in policy. They:
▶️ refute evidence of harm
▶️ avoid blame for their actions
▶️ fight approaches that would reduce harm to communities
▶️ prioritise profit over people

Next to the lake this morning I learned that TikTok dancing takes a LOT of takes. Watching the social-media-sausage get made. 🌭

- Claude’s artifact generator is great. Claude wants you to feel like a programmer.
- Claude doesn’t link sources from the internet (as of yet), but I don’t find I’m usually looking for that.
- Claude doesn’t digest as large of docs as gpt. But I break em up and it does fine.

I oscillate between the two. GPT’s memory for past conversations is great, but Claude’s projects get you some way to a sustained context window. Claude Pro seems to restrict use of the sonnet model more quickly though with large projects (even w pro) and seems to give less warning than gpt).

If you have anything to do with teaching statistics, visit Kristoffer’s online interactive visualizations. They used to be my favourite contribution to the teaching of research methods. I don’t teach my students R, but this is now my favourite 👇🏼

😂 literally spent 2 hours trying to remember which email/password combo would work with a journal’s manuscript central portal today.
I envy that it’s in your past 😊
Does anyone else have flashbacks to logging in to Manuscript Central when trying to access your different Slack workspaces on a new machine?
