Gaming Alexandria, a group of game preservationists are doing an excellent job posting scans, articles, interviews, and even dumps of prototypes to be shared with the world before they are potentially lost. Some images I clean up and post online comes from their scans. ❤️

It has no ending, sadly.
Rags to Riches is a good one. Very interesting game from 1985.
I've been having too much fun in Wplace with placing pixels all around the world map. Just finished this giant key art/title screen from Season of the Sakura/Sakura no Kisetsu (1996, PC-98/DOS/Windows) with a group of people.
@lgr-yt.bsky.social Hello, just wondering if and when you're going to cover the Playcard games for Windows. I know that a viewer of yours gifted you some. There's very little information about them online.

Most information about them online (in Finnish):

Retro Rewind: Muistatko Playcardin ''PC-pelit taskukoossa''?
Tämän artikkelin alaotsikko on röyhkeästi lainattu Niko Nirvin artikkelista Pelit-lehdestä vuosituhannen alusta, sillä PC Playcard -kummajaisista ei kovin monia muita mainintoja internetin ihmemaast.....

Pausing in the MSX game, Iga Ninpou Chou Mangetsujou no Tatakai (Casio, 1986), is pretty funny:
The pause animation from the MSX game, Yokai Yashiki (Casio, 1986). This game also got ported to Famicom Disk System.
The pause animation from the MSX game, Issunboushi no Donnamondai (Casio, 1986):
The pause animation from the MSX game, Yami no Ryuuou Hadesu no Monshou (Casio, 1986):
The pause animation from the MSX game, Moai no Hihou (Casio, 1986):
The pause animation from the MSX game, Koneko no Daibouken: Chibi-chan ga Iku (Casio, 1986):
"Who's gonna help me to find the Alpha Ozone for me? I'm so old now."
Mass Tael was a really interesting company. Sadly, they never had a chance to make a more expanded game with an ending.

I recently uploaded longplays of pretty much all of their MSX games on YouTube, only missing 2 games.
Heh, looks very similar to Tiger's RoboCop 2 and 3 handhelds, so I think I basically have?
Screenshot from the ZX Spectrum port of Rodland. Beautiful! Ship it!
The Story of Melroon (PC-88/PC-98) calendar image from Technopolis magazine (volume 91, Feb 1990), cleaned up. Thanks to @gamingalexandria.bsky.social for the original scan. This is the same image that was used in the game's manual, but now in colors.
"You didn't win, but you did score 0 points."

Geez. Thanks Waldo.
Teque Software! The guys who brought you such classic as Chubby Gristle, The Munsters, and The Flintstones (where Fred paints the wall). 😂👍
Ys III is taking place in its version of Switzerland. Anyone knows what this Valestine Castle in the game is based on? It seems digitized? Screenshot from the PC-88 version of Ys III.

Apparently, this developer has a history of lifting existing assets. Here are some examples from his previous game:
This is why you cannot trust YouTubers and publishers in the retrogaming space. This 2025 megadrive game presented as "better than most snes game" has assets traced over existing sprites (Wild Guns and Shinobi III) and AI-generated backgrounds. Garbage game, garbage company, garbage shill youtuber.
I've always loved this European NES cover for Mega Man 3. Such a good composition.
For those who are confused, Future Disk is a long-running Dutch disk magazine series for the MSX2 (and higher) computers, created by members of MSX Club Zuid-Limburg (1992-1994) and later on S.T.U.F.F. (1994-2025). The final issue, FD#50, was released on June 14, 2025.
It's the end of an era. The final issue of the Future Disk disk magazine, FD#50, got released recently. I'll be livestreaming it this Satuday. I'm excited!
