Were not far away from being a good side. We obviously need to sharpen up defensively, but of the 10 games we have drawn or lost this season, only 4 of them weve had a lower xG (Fulham, City, Forest, Spurs).

Heaven was nice and comfortable on ball, good in the air, but I think his inexperience got exposed today.
Didnt engage for the first one, not close enough to the forward on the 2nd.
Not helped by Martinez, who I thought was really poor. Looked well off the pace.

What I will say is that, from an attacking point of view, we are much improved on last season.

Van de Ven is a good player. An obvious threat in the air, a leader and really quick. If there was any possibility to sign him in the summer, we should take it.
Same with Onana at Villa. Both big, powerful, 6ft 4", quick, good footballers.
Add those two, and we'd have a serious team.

Another one this week from Mukiele that led to Sunderlands equaliser (not that im complaining). But surely that's an easy VAR decision. The Ref and assistant have both missed him lifting his back foot off the ground.

The best thing about the game yesterday, it was the 1st time my 5 year old chose to sit down and watch (most) of the game with me.
My two eldest boys have no interest in football, so to see him so excited when his new favourite player, "Harrymagraa", scored was just perfect! 👌
