People who have applied for jobs recently: Do you upload a cover letter every time, or just when asked? I hate the whole concept of them, so I want to only do them when absolutely necessary.

Mom was supposed to have her surgery today. We were already in the cubicle when the doctor said that it had been cancelled for an emergency surgery. Now we have to be back at 6 AM Monday. That should make Christmas fun.

It is a minor miracle. Oliver actually is using the cat tree mom got. We thought the only use he would get out of it was sleeping on the huge shipping box it came in.

Mom’s neighbor just knocked. I thought it was to have us babysit Charley, but nope. She wanted to show us her first homemade loaf of sourdough bread. It was gorgeous, but now the apartment smells like bread and my stomach is growling.

I was looking for a new flatware set for my mom, and came upon these cursed listings. Why are the knife blades so short, the handles so long, and the spoons just…wrong? One knife looks like it belongs in a Play-doh set, while the other one looks disturbingly like a scalpel.

Turns out my X-ray this afternoon was actually another ultrasound. Also, the person who designed Lawrence General’s so-called garage needs to go back to design school. It is two floors, both of which are exactly one dead end row each.

This is our new CEO, Javier. I have officially adopted him. He is estimated to be 8 years old and he's deaf, so there's no need to give any feedback on his job performance. He is just a perfect gentlemen and I am so grateful he made his way to me. 14/10 no bias at all

This week is called “racing the end of my health insurance.” I have an at home sleep study I am picking up the stuff for tomorrow, and Thursday I have both an X-ray and an ultrasound. Not that any diagnoses will do any good if I lose my insurance come February.

I was perusing the job apps, and a teller position at the bank my nephew works at popped up. J seems to like it there, and he was making more than I was when I got let go. I am hesitant to try because if I applied and got declined for the job my 26 year old nephew has, I would die of embarrassment.
