By the way, about Shima Renzou…

When you think about it…even though he’s so talented, he doesn’t seem to think his ability is anything too special (until it gets him out of a pinch). Does Renzou insist he can only copy others because he grew up feeling like a copy of Takezou? (scared)

All the hype about Renzou in chapter 162 seems to be on X, so I’m over there constantly searching for chatter. I want to scream about him on every platform though, so here I am 🤧
As for orchids, that’s probably the character "蘭 (ran)" which.. looks too complicated for Ranma, lol. But that’s a matter of taste, and I feel like it was given by Kodachi in the fic I saw so it certainly suits as something she’d suggest 🤭
I don’t know much about trans cultures JP or EN, admittedly, but I do remember learning ages ago that people in Japan, especially girls, would often use the Hiragana for their name if they didn’t like their Kanji characters because it looks cuter. So "らんま" already reads more girlish, which is fun.
I think most people who use "Ranko" in EN fandom mean something different when they use that name (maybe they even mean something closer to "らんま" sometimes). But I’m happy for the works that use "Ranma" whatever the form—and maybe the lack of gender distinction in written English suits Ranma well.
For various reasons (including lower access to the original language), on the EN side, the convention was often to use "Ranko" instead when Ranma is a girl, but to me Ranko is specifically the fake personality that Ranma uses to fool Nodoka.
It’s much more obvious these days compared to when the manga and anime were first brought over. You can see it written that way on a lot of the Remake merch. I just always felt happy when I saw "Ranma" used for both forms in EN even though some of the nuance is lost.
I recently learned that in the original Japanese Ranma 1/2 manga, when Ranma’s name is used, they say the characters "乱馬" for boy-type and "らんま” for girl-type. Both are phonetically "Ranma" so there’s no way to translate that to English at all.
I hang out with many fans overseas who enjoy your posts 💕 Some things we would never get a chance to admire if it weren’t for ◎san, so I’m very grateful! The details you show us of things you noticed really increase my enjoyment and understanding of the characters we love 🥰

That’s real community!
🔁 He’s the type who gets embarrassed and hides from his idol. Being noticed is rough on his heart 🤭

From Yana, on the ages of the students:

"Twst follows a European/American-style system, so compulsory education is until the age of 16. NRC is considered a 'high school/technical college,' so everyone enters at 16.

In Japan high school enrollment is typically at age 15--"

Ryoga and Ranma doing an errand. Any kind of domesticity is cute!
My problem is that if I don’t finish something in one sitting I have a very hard time coming back to it. I draw very slow though so finishing something after a day of work is a very far off goal…
🔁 Aah, gorgeous! A rare gem!
