From renewable resources to lifecycle-conscious specifications, our team is committed to creating beautiful spaces that respect the planet.

Let’s continue designing interiors that not only serve their users, but also safeguard our shared future.
By championing low-carbon and bio-based materials, we aim to reduce our projects’ environmental footprint while still achieving the high-performance, elegant interiors we’re known for.
In line with this year’s focus on sustainability, the MTA interiors group presented on bio-based and low embodied carbon interior finish materials, highlighting strategies for reducing environmental impact through thoughtful material selection.
At Moriyama Teshima Architects, our Interiors group has been actively exploring how material choices impact the future of our built environment.
Last week, we joined the global design community in celebrating World Interiors Day, an international celebration of interior architecture and design, championing the power of thoughtful, intentional spaces to shape our well-being, culture, and environment.
The conversation highlighted the value of interdisciplinary collaboration between architects, consultants, and public sector stakeholders in delivering a project of this scale and significance.
The team shared how the project carefully balances the preservation of the building’s architectural legacy with the integration of modern systems and federal workplace standards, all within the constraints of a secure and high-performance environment.
Their session focused on the unique design challenges of restoring this prominent federal heritage site in downtown Ottawa.
On May 15th, as part of the Ontario Association of Architects (@oaarchitects.bsky.social) Conference in Niagara Falls, MTA Partners Ronen Bauer and Emmanuelle van Rutten joined Kasian Principal James Rice to present on the West Memorial Building Rehabilitation project.
Please join us in congratulating Phil and Ben on their well-deserved partnership. We look forward to the exciting new directions their leadership will take us.
