If I was going to play a contract hitman, it makes sense he had to be a literature nerd 🤓😂

I had such a blast on NCIS. Season 22 and going strong!
I love how in the 70s and 80s Peter Benchley sold millions of books by just being like “Hey, have you guys heard about the ocean? What if I told you there are THINGS in there?!”
I streamed a playthrough of the solo CoC story “Alone Against the Static” a few months back and had a great creepy time.

I want this for Dan Akroyd so badly 😂
Wow! Kudos to Ivan Reitman for leaving this one for dead 😂
Also is that a velvet rope off to the right? What the hell is going on here??
Watching GHOSTBUSTERS. I’ve never noticed in the notorious “ghost blowjob” scene that for some reason Ray is dressed as a pirate or something?

He’s wearing a doublet with fancy epaulets and there’s a sword leaning against the bed. How extensive WAS this scene originally??

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Please remember that the disgust people have over Christopher Columbus is not based on some modern, 21st century “woke” ideology, but rather on contemporaneous accounts of atrocities that make many modern genocides appear quaint in comparison.

Below, are the accounts of Bartlomé de las Casas.
But too many of the slaves died in captivity. And so Columbus, desperate to pay back dividends to those who had in-vested, had to make good his promise to fill the ships with gold. In the province of Cicao on Haiti, where he and his men imagined huge gold fields to exist, they ordered all persons fourteen years or older to collect a certain quantity of gold every three months. When they brought it, they were given copper tokens to hang around their necks. Indians found without a copper token had their hands cut off and bled to death.
The Indians had been given an impossible task. The only gold around was bits of dust garnered from the streams. So they fled, were hunted down with dogs, and were killed. After each six or eight months' work in the mines, which was the time required of each crew to dig enough gold for melting, up to a third of the men died.
While the men were sent many miles away to the mines, the wives remained to work the soil, forced into the excruciating job of digging and making thousands of hills for cassava plants.
Thus husbands and wives were together only once every eight or ten months and when they met they were so exhausted and depressed on both sides... they ceased to pro-create. As for the newly born, they died early because their mothers, overworked and fam-ished, had no milk to nurse them, and for this reason, while I was in Cuba, 7000 children died in three months. Some mothers even drowned their babies from sheer desper-ation.... In this way, husbands died in the mines, wives died at work, and children died from lack of milk ... and in a short time this land which was so great, so powerful and fer-tile... was depopulated... My eyes have seen these acts so foreign to human nature, and now I tremble as I write....

Jared Leto *is* AI: a tacky thing corporations keep forcing on consumers by putting him in everything even though he’s unprofitable and nobody likes it
I still think of you every time I hear it 😂

The following is REAL footage from Portland, 2025. Viewer discretion is advised.
Do you think Taylor Swift’s new album will cause people to reappraise this modern classic? 😂
Even HE isn’t stupid enough to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell… right?
I feel like I COULD get pretty good at the NYT Spelling Bee game, unfortunately I just find it very very boring.

Only sometimes! Our older cat can get a little “back-footy” when it’s time for his liquid steroid, so we’ll use it on him. But most of the time I’ve been able to do it quickly without.

Horrifying— Barbara Gomes Marques went with her US citizen husband and lawyer on 9/16 to a green card appointment at USCIS office in downtown LA where she was tricked into walking down a hallway away from them, was snatched by ICE and never came back. She now faces imminent deportation in Louisiana.

Giving medication to your cat is like learning to drive stick shift.

The first couple times it is the most stressful, chaotic thing you can imagine. But by the 10th time, you feel like a goddamned superhero.
William Petersen had never seen MANHUNTER with an audience before tonight 🥹
Kate McKinnon describing the mating habits of the deep sea anglerfish in detail while losing her mind on Hot Ones is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while 😂
