Swifts are in serious decline, with their UK population falling by 66% since 1995.

Moments ago MSPs backed our amendment to install low cost swift nesting bricks in new buildings.

This small act will make our communities more liveable for birds and help swifts recover.

We're absolutely delighted to welcome two councillors to the @scottishgreens.org today.

John Stuart (formerly SNP) and Ross Mckenzie (formerly Labour) are champions for their communities. They've joined the Greens because we stick to our values, putting people & planet before profit.

We are delighted to welcome Cllr John Stuart to the Scottish Greens.

We look forward to working to build a fairer, greener Moray which delivers a Just Transition, protects nature, invests in public services and addresses the cost of living.

4 years ago we delivered free bus travel for under 22s.

Now we want to expand it to everyone under 30 - improving mobility, lowering congestion and pollution, and leaving more money in people's pockets.

Reducing the cost of public transport is a win-win for people and planet.
Free bus travel for everyone under 30 is top Budget demand for Scottish Greens
John Swinney's SNP Government will announce its Budget next month.

As temperatures fall & winter sets in, dropping the Heat in Buildings Bill is a big setback for Scotland’s climate & fuel poverty goals.

We can’t ignore the #ClimateCrisis. The next Parliament must act boldly to phase out fossil fuels & bring our world back to life. 🌍

Another massive blow to climate action from the Scottish Government today. This time its also a huge backwards step for our efforts to tackle fuel poverty.

Its genuinely incredibly sad to see the Government trash its reputation as a climate leader like this.

Scotland's iconic native red squirrels are vital for our nature and climate restoration. But until recent conservation efforts they were in steep decline.

Our amendment would force the Scottish Government to increase efforts to protect and expand their population.

Another step backwards on the climate from the Scottish Government today.

The First Minister has confirmed to @ariane-burgess.bsky.social that the 2030 target for peatland restoration has been dropped and replaced with a weak 2040 target.

What is going on?
The SNP's wrecking amendment to this motion has sadly passed, confirming that the Scottish Government no longer opposes the Rosebank oil field application. A huge step backwards and a sad day for Scotland's reputation on climate action.
Under Nicola Sturgeon & Humza Yousaf the Scottish Government rightly opposed the proposed Rosebank oil field.

John Swinney has sadly dropped that opposition and tried to avoid taking a position at all.

That's not good enough, so tomorrow the @scottishgreens.org will force a vote.

🚨 BREAKING

The SNP have just blocked our motion, confirming they no longer oppose the Rosebank oil field application.

If Rosebank goes ahead it'll be a grave act of environmental vandalism. This is a huge step backwards for Scotland's climate action.
Today the Scottish Parliament will vote on our motion opposing Rosebank.

The oil field would release a massive 250 million tonnes of new carbon emissions into our atmosphere, 50 times as much as previously admitted!

We must put people and planet first, not corporate profits.

We at @scottishgreens.org are clear.

We must oppose the approval of #Rosebank

❌ It will NOT improve energy security
❌ It will NOT reduce energy bills
❌ It will NOT provide long-term careers

The SNP is calling for lower taxes on firms making billions whilst 1/3 Scottish homes are in fuel poverty.

This lobbying has got even worse since the Glasgow climate conference COP26.
