It may sound weird how a fictional character could have such an impact on a real person, I know, I was called a liar for telling this story before. However, it cannot alter the fact that Aruni changed me in a better way, and I will be forever grateful.

A concept art of Aruni trying to walk again, telling people to trust her that she would recover in no time, hit me deeply. Her resilience and optimism encouraged me to stop listening to negative thoughts and quit self-stigmatizing.

Having a Thai female video game character in a big title like Rainbow Six is surprising enough. But how she is also a person with disabilities being represented in a good light is beyond my fantasy.

In 2015, my right lower leg was broken and I became temporarily disabled. As disability is considered a stigma in Thai culture, I was only allowed to keep the emotional pain to myself.

For years, I could not truly find peace, until I met Aruni.

24 April 2025 — Today marks 10 years since the traffic accident that turned my life upside down.

The earlier days were rough, but thanks to Aruni from Rainbow Six Siege, her presence helped me finally overcome my traumatic experience.
