It’s open to anyone living in the UK who has experience of #perimenopause or #menopause, living with or without #diabetes
The team are very keen to hear the experiences of black and brown women to help address gaps in care

When #perimenopause # menopause support reflects true diversity, people gain agency to ask for the help that fits their lives.

@moodwife.bsky.social explaining menopause dramatically increases heart risk compared to men, and a 3-fold risk of hip fractures. #25ADC #DAPeoplesVoice
That was such a great week with #diabuddies, #HCPs, #researchers.
New friends were made and old friendships were reinforced. I love the #DOC

26 years ago this rocket entered our world before unleashing a tsunami of drama ❤️‍🔥

He still has annual cardiac reviews and doesn’t need surgery yet so he’s living his very best life half a world away 💗
On Thursday 29th May 2025, Mary Murphy presented a poster at the Public Health Agency conference on #MentalHealth we had put together from the #NIdoc peer support network. The poster demonstrates the efficacy of peer support for people living with #Type1Diabetes here in Northern Ireland #SquadGoals
Delighted to be able to share this latest publication. Thanks to everyone at Diabetes Centre Berne for the opportunity to collaborate 💙

May is Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month. Nearly 40% of Black mothers experience maternal mental health symptoms—almost double the national average. We must break the stigma and demand culturally competent care for Black birthing people!
In today’s episode of my crazy life, I was talking at a @breakthrought1duk.bsky.social event in Belfast. A man was taking photos of one of my slides. His wife was in a photo from 1986 of me and my Gold Duke of Edinburgh group. She was diagnosed with #T1D 5 years ago 🥹 that was a reunion and a half 💙
Delighted to have been part of this writing group with my lovely Menopause Mither diabuddy @dia-bete-noire.bsky.social

It’s hard walking the line that should have been Mum’s 💔
I asked my sister how she wanted the lorry decorated 😂 I can’t wait to see her face when she sees what I’ve actually booked 🤩
I never actually imagined I’d be involved in wedding planning yet here I am, sister of the bride, sorting fittings and alterations of outfits for the bridesmen, arranging a cake & wedding favours, and booking hairdresser trials, make up trials and transport for the Bride. The countdown is on 🤪
I am so delighted for them Moyra. The fact that they cycled 265miles in 4 days when for either of them their longest journey has been 5 miles is no mean feat 🫂
And that’s it ✅ they arrived yesterday evening and received a free pint after the barman was told they’d cycled the breadth of the North
The bais are away into the west on a cross-country bike trip they’ve crossed the Bann, cycled 60 miles and are spending the night in Tyrone.
