You know it’s cold in Cali when people are wearing beanies and coats on the train to work 😂

(It’s only 54° right now)

Night trolleybus vibes 🚎✨
The interior of a King County Metro XT60 at night, with a completely empty rear section. The trolley is well lit but not overwhelming and the yellow steps on the high floor section stand out in sharp relief

I genuinely thought it would be impossible to make up for the lost ridership in the final days, but I still wanted to try to do everything I could to encourage ridership, and I know others did too, and I’m sure it had a positive impact here.

Despite an 18-day service shutdown during the strike, VTA still saw higher overall bus ridership in FY25 than in FY24.

This speaks to how much our riders value the service and perhaps it also speaks to why it’s still important to encourage ridership even when you're frustrated.

Sometimes, I do when they think I’m a high school boy, but this was during the school day, and I was wearing a company/law firm lanyard lol

I saw this truck earlier today and I wanted to ask the driver some questions to investigate, but then I remembered what I look like and I changed my mind lol

(I voted for the other candidate if that somehow isn't obvious)

First @Amtrak.com ride when I still lived on the West Coast: Pacific Surfliner - Glendale to Santa Barbara (August 2017)

First Amtrak ride as an East Coast resident: Hartford Line - Springfield to Hartford (October 2025)

Here’s to many more Amtrak adventures! 🥹🚆🌊

To see real change we need to be honest about what's going on and why certain strategy decision are being made.

Also, if anyone is confused about what's going on, to put it bluntly, Dems lost racial and ethnic minority voters in 2024 in part because many of these communities are still socially conservative, traditional, and religious.

Now, Dems are using immigration to regain support.

I totally get that Silicon Valley elected officials have bigger issues to worry about right now, including making sure that doctors can keep their $300k salaries.

But their silence on the conversion therapy SCOTUS case and kids being tortured is a new low.
monicamallon.bsky.social
I wasn’t trying to say that doctors don’t have an important job. It’s just been disappointing to see elected officials absorbed in a tax measure that’s being funded by doctors who want to keep their salaries and ignoring other important issues.

And I’m not saying this to suggest that they support Chiles. Most of them likely support the respondent and maintaining the ban. Some even have compelling stories to tell to that effect.

I’m saying this to get them to rethink their silence.

Supreme Court: of course states can regulate, and restrict access to, medical procedures if there’s a compelling public interest

Colorado: (bans conversion therapy for minors)

Supreme Court: no not like that, we only meant abortion

As someone who went to a Catholic school a decade ago, I know the pressures that Catholic teachers face and how difficult it can be to speak up.

But I will always have so much respect for people who do.
