Hi Alister, maybe I gave the wrong impression. I have no probs with LGBT+ Charter. It’s the transinclusion statement that worries me. A man is not a woman. Put on a dress, wig, still not a woman. Treat with respect, of course, as you would anyone. But don’t betray women’s rights for male fantasy.

Does this make me a terf? I regard myself as an LGBT+ ally, but sex is sex and is fixed and a biological and medical fact, whereas gender (& gender-id) is fluid and not, I believe, a biological or medical fact. So, wish me luck….3/3

No problem with the charter - except that it’s a bit verbose. But I’m losing patience with the full scale rush to provide transwomen with more rights than women. We adult human females have a right to safe spaces. And my union should respect that @ucu.org.uk @oubucu.bsky.social 2/3
