The best critical historian of psychiatry in my view is Andrew Scull. I’ll check my copies of his book to see if he had written anything on this when I get home. You write about some of my favorite topics: informants, empathy, and now history of psych. sciences!

This also happened in Trump’s 1st term. A Newton, MA judge & her court officer were charged federally in 2019 with obstruction of justice for allegedly helping a defendant evade ICE. Charges were dropped in late 2022.
