It also comes from social media, I think people are more afraid of judgment than ever bc the facts match the emotions. We live in a time of incredible surveillance and self-policing, doesn’t take much for people to judge you heavily and harshly… people are scared of each other
It dismays me a lot when I see other people in my life spend a lot of time reflexively apologizing, overexplaining, or "predicting" criticism that may or may not ever come because I know too well that comes from being heavily criticized at developmentally impactful points in their life

not to talk shit but I’m so sick of video essay culture in the way that people just. genuinely don’t understand wtf they’re talking about or even try to research about what the subject they’re talking about. they just spew lies and inaccuracies in attempts to sound smart and it still gets them views

i honestly miss doing wfh, even if it was contract tasks on websites because it's relaxing not being around people. but it's also conflicting cause like, being around people irl is better for my mental health. but that's also a problem on its own when you have a customer-facing job 😔

i’m at the point in college where i think I don’t care about having a near perfect gpa anymore. like yea there’s summa but if i get magna it’s whatever. i was on the road to that at my last uni and a 3.9-4.0 is overrated
