They sell opener tools on Directfix and iFixit to open it yourself. I know when (classic) iPods won't hold a charge, it means the battery needs replacing. I've taken my own iPods apart & made replacement with an aftermarket battery bought on eBay. The housing probably won't be the same again, tho.

I played the @redspringstudio.bsky.social demo for the visual novel TOUCHSTARVED. I've only met 2 of the 5 prospects so far, but am enjoying the dark fantasy vibes & solid writing. My one complaint is that there's no stream-friendly music, so I laid in copyright-free tracks.

I've opened mine to do battery replacements, and had to make peace with the case never being the same afterwards. The sides get scratched and the metal retains a slight bend. I keep it in a sleeve, so it doesn't matter. The big problem now is that Apple's support for the library app is eroding.
