Les suites de la brouille entre les États-Unis et l'Afrique du Sud. Depuis son arrivée à la Maison blanche, le président américain Donald Trump accuse Pretoria de « persécuter la minorité blanche », parlant même de « génocide blanc ». « Il s'agit d'une désinformation flagrante à propos de notre pays », a déclaré ce 30 novembre le président sud africain Cyril Ramaphosa. Après avoir boycotté le sommet du G20 qui s'est tenu fin novembre en Afrique du Sud, les États-Unis ont menacé de ne pas inviter Pretoria au prochain sommet, qui se tiendra sous présidence américaine en Californie dans un an. Première phase de l'exécution de ce projet : l'administration américaine vient de nettoyer le site officiel du G20.
