I came across Ginger Root's Cyber Monday excess tour merch video too late, but sharing anyway because it's amazing, lol.

Just like clockwork. Well, the new model will be like $900 more than what I paid for the A7 IV (without any of the extra goodies thrown in) so I'm not particularly disappointed, but just thought it was funny.

I was torn between the Sony A7 IV and Canon EOS R6 II for the past few days (Adorama had both marked down and bundled w/ an extra battery and 256GB V60 SD card; the Canon also bundled an official EF lens adapter). Ended up deciding on the Sony due to more lens options.
My heart is saying to get a Fujifilm X-H2 or X-T5 for professional use, but my brain (and pretty much all common sense) is saying that I should get a Sony A7 IV for that. The combination of battery life and third party lens selection for Sony's mirrorless system is unmatched right now.

I can't stand that the rear fingerprint reader is no longer a thing. They were absolutely flawless in my LG V20 and Pixel 4A 5G. I'm constantly having to wipe the screen on my Pixel 9 Pro in order for its in-display fingerprint reader to recognize my thumb.

Remember to always, ALWAYS read the three-star reviews for products on Amazon, etc. They tend to be the least biased. And if anything, you can decide whether or not someone's deal breaker matters to you.

What I wouldn't give for a Pioneer DJ/AlphaTheta controller that is basically the DDJ-800 but shrunken down to the size of the DDJ-400/FLX4 (but with magically the same length pitch faders).

For anyone adding "Supernatural Feelings [Remix]" by The Flints and Night Tapes to their DJ library, it REALLY IS 133.83 BPM. Don't be like me and spend a half hour trying to fix the analyzation via tap tempo.

I had this ongoing thread on Twitter where I'd list two bands, games, etc. that I'd constantly confuse for one another (e.g., Hellblade 2 and Helldivers 2, Rufus Du Sol and Nora en Pure, etc).

Lately it's been David Lynch and David Byrne.

Have to say I’m loving the new Version History podcast by @davidpierce.xyz which is fast becoming a must listen for product builders. This week’s episode was a fun case study of the Zune and how MSFT built a not great product that aspired to be great.

Why the Zune never killed the iPod | Version History
In 2006, Microsoft came for the iPod's throne with an innovative MP3 player called the Zune. It had a bunch of features the iPod didn't: WiFi, music sharing, a bigger screen, a beautiful UI, even an FM radio. And to hear Microsoft describe it, it was even kind of a social network. Nilay Patel and Victoria Song join David Pierce to break down why, despite all that, the Zune never really took off. And why it came in brown. #Podcast #Technology #Nostalgia 0:00 The Early 2000s Music Dilemma 00:21 Introducing the Zune: Microsoft's Answer to the iPod 00:34 The Zune vs. iPod Debate 00:58 Personal Stories and Experiences with Early Music Players 02:27 The Zune's Unique Features and Design 06:56 Nilay's Joy Division Limited Edition Zune 09:15 Microsoft's Strategy and the Zune's Market Position 30:15 The Zune's Launch and Initial Reception 37:56 High School Nostalgia and the Zune's Features 38:13 The Zune's Preloaded Content 38:53 The Zune's Launch and Initial Reviews 39:17 The Zune's Struggles and Criticisms 47:15 The Zune's Market Performance and Microsoft's Efforts 49:52 The Zune's Decline and the Rise of Smartphones 52:42 The Zune's Legacy and Final Thoughts 56:38 Version History Questions Subscribe: http://goo.gl/G5RXGs Like The Verge on Facebook: https://goo.gl/2P1aGc Follow on Twitter: https://goo.gl/XTWX61 Follow on Instagram: https://goo.gl/7ZeLvX Follow on TikTok: http://bit.ly/42VeCVU Watch The Vergecast on YouTube: https://bit.ly/40RFRkg The Vergecast Podcast: https://bit.ly/3WQDexZ Decoder with Nilay Patel: http://apple.co/3v29nDc More about our podcasts: https://www.theverge.com/podcasts Read More: http://www.theverge.com Community guidelines: http://bit.ly/2D0hlAv Wallpapers from The Verge: https://bit.ly/2xQXYJr Shop our Verge merch store here: https://bit.ly/4kPCmEc Subscribe to The Verge: https://bit.ly/3FT6n5S Subscribe to The Vergecast on YouTube, new episodes on Tuesday and Friday: https://bit.ly/3I6nJtz If you buy something from a Verge link, Vox Media may receive a commission without exerting any influence on editorial content. kind of annoys me when people use the aesthetics of graffiti to show they're edgy and cool while also calling for more punitive laws, which punish the graffiti artists who give that aesthetic its cultural meaning
