Review in Electronic Sound that reads Oxford's audiovisual duo Tim and Jeremy Day create stripped-back, analogue electro-funk with deadpan spoken word, that sits somewhere on the nexus of The Normal, LFO and Paranoid London, Dark, sweaty and brilliantly constructed, 'Joy' brings insistent minimal grooves with counter rhythms picked out by repetitive modular melodies. Continually threatening full-blown acid house explosions, it pulls back in a perfect display of less is more. The standouts, 'Zero' and 'Black Light', brilliantly explore the shades between suffocation and celebration. MJ
