Wife, RETIRED elementary librarian, horn player, parent of 2 college kids. A tiny blue dot in a rabidly red county.
I just finished this book and it is really good! It is funny, factual, and gives great tips for fighting back against hate-filled Bible thumpers! 📚💙 #booksky

I just spent a tense few minutes- I got a Discover Card Alert for out of country card use. I immediately thought my card was hacked. Very thankful for Discover fraud alert team member for figuring out where the problem was! Apparently, Fubo.tv can't spell New York in their address🙄

I enjoyed a little digital detox in the Smokey Mountains! Here are my September reads (a little late). Of these, my favorite is The Secret Book Society. Braiding Sweetgrass was excellent, too! #Booksky

I’m a little late to the party, but Assistant to the Villain was such a fun book! Sometimes a silly rom-com is exactly what I need!💙📚

Empathy is important, but it is emotionally draining. I prefer to progress through empathy to compassion- which is energizing to address the problem

When you’ve seen the movie before, but keep watching to ‘see what happens’ this time.

My August list of books. The more stressed I am with American politics, the more I read. Thank God for public libraries! #booksky

Why is changing a battery in a key fob so difficult??? Hardest part- finding the battery. Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens' websites ALL said they had it in stock. Lies. Auto-Zone for the win.

My college kiddo scored a single campus apartment with a 'real' kitchen! What are your fav quick recipes? He took 3 years of culinary arts in HS, so he CAN cook- he just doesn't know WHAT to make! He has a stove, oven, and air fryer but no microwave. 🍜

Is this book worth the time? I loved Fourth Wing but didn’t think Iron Flame lived up to the hype. I wasn’t going to read this one, but it was at the library…. I’m only about 85 pgs in, and I’m struggling. Does it get better? 💙📚

This is hysterical… glad the FWS wasn’t mentioned because we are doing great, just great.

Ok,ok- we aren’t great.

Hey boss, what do I do with the last breeding pair of this species? You want me to cook it for lunch?!?

In July, I made a point of reading instead of doomscrolling. Things may be going to hell, but at least I’m reading some great books 🙄 💙📚

I just finished listening to Atmosphere: A Love Story by Taylor Jenkins Reid. WOW! One of the best books this year. It lived up to all the hype!!! #booksky

I’m not sure who recommended this, but THANK YOU! This struck the perfect balance. It is hopeful, positive, solidly researched, and NOT saccharine. I don’t read a lot of nonfiction- but HIGHLY recommend this book - especially if you have read Tipping Point. 📚💙
