Excited to see the Special Issue on Sexual and Gender Diversity in #TPS is live (just in time for pride)! Such important work from various areas of psychological science underscoring the importance of translational research among LGBTQIA+ folks 🌈 psycnet.apa.org/PsycARTICLES...

Finally defended my dissertation and (almost) able to call myself Dr. Mazzone! Now I have little excuse to finish the projects I’ve been putting off in the meantime 🤪. Honored to continue to do the work in effort to prevent suicide among higher risk populations 🌈

The president granting a TikTok extension yet continuing to slash essential research, deteriorate health benefits for veterans and tanking the economy (among what seems to be countless other things) should give you some insight on priorities of this administration. 🤡

Campaigning on “making America great again (?)” & actively making this country a worse place (e.g., bombing the economy, shredding life-saving research, cutting Social Security, tyrant collusion) YET I still see unwavering republican support. When will you realize he does not care about you?

I sincerely think that universities should suspend their productivity standards for scientists and ask them instead to hold town halls in schools, public libraries, museums, shopping malls, and anywhere else and communicate what is being lost with the collapse of the research ecosystem.
“The ecosystem of research and the creation of new knowledge in universities has been so powerful for American prosperity, American freedom, American ingenuity. To have that disrupted by government overreach is a disaster for this country.” —Wesleyan University President Michael Roth on

NIH cuts are getting the press, but VA research is getting slashed too. What do we lose when VA research goes away? Here's some greatest hits: The nicotine patch, invention of the cardiac pacemaker, first successful liver transplant, development of the CAT/CT scan

VA Research Funding Slashed
Though not as prominent as the NIH, VA researchers play a major role in advancing basic health science. Hundreds of projects have been cut.
