We're proud to announce a new stable release of Mixxx: version 2.5.3, this version not only contains updates and fixes for some issues reported by users, but it also contains improvements to the Digital Vinyl System (DVS) support.

One of our newest contributors, Jan, discovered how to interpret the timecode signal on the Traktor MK2 Control Vinyl and has created the first implementation we're aware of to decode it. Coming to Mixxx soon!

@philmorse.bsky.social Thank you for your lovely review of Mixxx! We are already discussing ways to help make the app more discoverable, especially for effects. We are also in the middle of revamping our vinyl control support to fix some longstanding bugs and sticker drift.

There is ongoing work to create an open library that can write rekordbox USB sticks. It's still early days but if it's successful it would give DJs an alternative.

Mixxx Stable 2.5.1 Released!

This release contains a lot of improvements, fixes, new and improved controller-mappings. Remember, you don't have to be a programmer to contribute to Mixxx. Translating, testing and checking for possible regression is just as important.

* a "slip-mode" waveform for scratch DJs
* a count of beats until the next marker
* even smoother waveforms

Mixxx Stable 2.4.2 Finally Released!

"Finally" because it's a bit later than planned, perfection can take some time. This is a bugfix release for the 2.4 series before stepping over to a new number.
