if i push it, i can hopefully have a rough outline done over the weekend and do the proper ch1 rewrite over the next week. my main goal here is to get the first chapter ready before 3.8 drops but i'd also prefer to have a few chapters of buffer set up before i really commit to posting.

the chain is still phainon → anaxa → hyacine → castorice → cipher, but where phainon had the whole first chapter dedicated to just him, ch2 was kinda hybrid phainon/anaxa/hyacine, and ch3 will prolly be a hybrid of hyacine/cas/cipher. a lot of what happens with them happens at around the same time.

yanno what? 4.8k and i think im gonna call it on ch2. it could probably use more tweaking but i think i more or less did what i wanted to do with that chapter. ch3 is where things start getting juicier, and with the new accelerated storyline, i might actually end up getting to agy by ch5 or so.

i feel like hysiIens and the tribioses could also get away with tickling agy for like, a minute or two, because she feels close and comfortable enough with them that she'd let them have their fun. but cipher's the only person who she'll let absolutely DESTROY her.

also agy deserves to get cipher back more but im fixated on agy being the victim because i think she's the one who actually enjoys it most. like, she both hates being tickled and loves that she hates it, at least when cipher's the one doing it to her.

i think the issue is hyacine's voice, actually. phainon's voice i have something of a handle on and anaxa is an utterly relatable adhd gremlin, but then i try to write channel hyacine's character voice and i go "?????????????"

so after sitting with it: from an overall writing perspective, amphoreus is like, alright. cipher as the absolute favorite truly carried it for me--before she showed up, i didn't actually give a fuck, and afterwards, i liked a lot of the ideas but not necessarily all the executions.
