No one wants to work anymore was also objectivly untrue. In early 2023 employment particpation for people 25 to 55 was higher than any point since pre 911. Like the belief of crime going up it was a geniune example of a wrong fact the media propped up.

My boomer coworker complained endlessly about no one wanting to work as state unemployment levels hovered around 2.0% because service at the restaurants was slower because everyone with an option got the fuck out of the service industry.

I don’t want to say real deliverism hasn’t been tried but at the end of the day Biden didn’t deliver a whole lot and the reason why that wasn’t entirely his fault is very hard to explain to the median voter, so I think there can be a sort of unjustified fatalism in how we view public opinion
Comms aside, Build Back Better never passed in full. Had money for housing, child care, and elder care brought more stability to those expenses, it’s possible Bidenomics would have been more popular. I guess we’ll never know for sure

I have a friend for instance - an assistant headteacher in a grammar school in South East England - who has radicalised herself into racism and fascist apologia simply by being there. Would that be the case if liberals she took seriously were still posting on the app by which she’s addicted?
