They found the statue with its legs and head cut off in the woods near where it was taken. It's apparently fixable.

The Galway water tower is closed and there are cops on site. The last two days crowds have gathered to look at the Paddy's Pond fire.

Further down the road they are either preparing a lot for construction, or preparing to make a fire break. Here you can see how thick the smoke is.

All we need now is some kind of rare astrological event like a meteor shower or the Aurora Borealis and we will get rain in no time.

I was cold in the shade yesterday so I wore a sweater, baffling Wilson as it was 20°C at the time.

Last night we had the biggest thunder storm I've ever seen in NL.

It fluctuated and reset my power, changed my kitchen LEDs to green, it turned on my tv backlights, it lit up the yard to look like daytime. It shook my house. It caused fires around metro.

It lasted for hours.

Amazing weekend! I got to hang out with award winning SF author Robert J Sawyer. We talked about all things writing with him and it was fantastic. Yesterday he critiqued part of my manuscript & thought it was good. As an aspiring SF writer that meant so much to me 😊

So happy I put myself out there!

Its Canada Day, but also Memorial Day in Newfoundland. On July 1st we remember the 800 Newfoundland soldiers that joined Canada in World War 1 and fought at Beaumont Hamel. NL was not part of Canada at that time, and of 800 NL soldiers, only 68 survived.

We didn't get to BH but one day I'd like to.

The British King sits on a thrown in Canada, listening to a young Metis person play an (Irish) fiddle, and hears an address in English and French. He shakes hands with both Liberals and Conservatives. The cultural representation is beautiful.

He will read a speech that underscores Canada's Sovernty.

I also want to say I absolutely loved this painting and it made me want to try more (neo)impressionism and pointillism style art again.

Discovering new-to-me art and seeing lesser known art is one reason I love museums.

This one is by Paul Signac, 1921 Entrée du port de la Rochelle.
