Mischka's mum here again: Mischka is still very poorly. She has had an antibiotic injection today, and we will see how she feels over the next few days, but it feels like it won't be much longer. Please keep us in your thoughts.

What can be seen (her nose and most of one eye) looks pensive or possibly angry, or maybe even a combination of both.

Mischka's mum here, I just want to give an update: as you may know, Mischka hasn't been very well. She is nearly 19 and it seems that has suddenly caught up with her. There's still a few things left to try, but her quality of life is always going to be my first concern...

Moments after this was taken, Mischka then sneezed all over her mum's face, which was very gross. Mum doesn't look all that sick, and is wearing a really cool white and green windcheater that has a T-Rex head of reversible blue/green sequins and reads "Dinos are forever. Tyrannosaurus - Rex".

Gilligan the boofy classic tabby boy lies on a red pillow, head up but eyes barely open. He was anaesthetised for a procedure earlier in the day, and the only time he showed any animation in the time since then was when dinner was served. Otherwise he was in this slightly befuddled, drowsy state.

Taken from just above and behind Mischka's head, this photo shows the view she has out of the (rather dirty) window, into a small courtyard with a waist high wall and two tall pillars marking the entrance. Standing just at this entrance is a calico torby looking warily towards the camera. She is not afraid of Mischka, whom she was on her way to argue with through the glass, but hasn't liked the arrival of Mischka's mum in paparazzi mode. The courtyard is paved with sand coloured bricks and has many weeds and a few potted plants in it.

TRAP MAMA ARM UNDER ME - Maya
A birds eye view of Maya the one eyed black cat as she lies in her mum's lap in a classic loaf position. Mum is wearing pink otter-themed pyjamas and had been looking at her phone while sitting on the bed, when Maya came over and first sat perched on mum's leg, then decided to go the whole hog and lie down, trapping mum's arm beneath her. Nova the small ticked ginger tabby is in the foot well of a car, in a cat carrier. She has her ears not quite as flat as they can go, but not far off, and her head down with her chin resting on a maroon towel. Her pupils are dilated and she looks as though she is having an extremely terrible day. She was given gabapentin for the first time but was so traumatised by the process of being put into the carrier that it has had very little effect.

Maya the one eyed black cat lies on the top of a cardboard moving box, rolling over to greet her mum as mum (not pictured) walks into the room. Unfortunately she is performing this manoeuvre at the very edge of the box and so is posed a split second before rolling off the box altogether and falling. It's also rather unfortunate that this was a still rather than a video, which would have captured the amusing if undignified sequel to be this shot, but you can't have everything.
