I’ve definitely played there but can’t remember the details 😳 Was probably the furthest east I’d been back then!
Just found the first 12” I ever bought, from Record & Tape (as it then was) in Camden. Thought I’d sold tbh. Kind of a banger too.

Pretty sure I have one of his mixtapes from back then, was technically excellent. Think I ended up playing at his Jazz Bistro party but maybe we just talked about it… 30 years ago, I guess. Ofc he work in MVE for years so has amazing records, I always associate this with him.

Listened this great @djhistory.bsky.social podcast while I packed up my records yesterday. Richard isn’t really unsung but his contribution should be celebrated. First met him on a trip to hear Weatherall play at the White Swan (iykyk) with a mutual mate maybe in 91/92?

It’s furry. Not an execution expert but I am led to believe the tools of execution are not very furry.
Nothing more boring than packing one’s records to move house. Except maybe the concept of Balearic as a genre (its AoR with a drum machine)
Dunno if this proves anything, but I have shared hyper pop playlist with a 28 yo friend at work and my kids keep stealing my clothes…
Tyler the Creator on whether youth culture still exists. I don't know if this is completely true, but it does seem more true today than in the past.
Wolves last game against Villa in the 80s was in 84. He was 2 years old.
I could well be up for that
I’m not not mate. Packing for the move in just over a week. Got tickets for Ipswich when the boy is home for reading week though.
I had poo lice once, had to take tablets for a week before they cleared up
Glad you like it! It’s a fav of mine (cheers Japanese Harvey loving website)
Amazing. But also, FFS.
A rite of passage 😬
I didn’t know about the d/l thing until just now 😳
That might have been it. @blockup.bsky.social do you remember it? I found it through Faith. And yeah, underwater is amazing, but filed somewhere else so didn’t even think of it!
Thanks mate. Think she’s enjoying a reason to spend all day in bed!
I was even younger (you old git 🙃) but it was a billboard no1!
That makes perfect sense, he’s a bit of agree me in this list. I think Automan bootlegged it too!
Right, that is it this time x
And finally, the pinnacle of rushy disco, France’s Joli… who was 17, the same age as my wayward daughter, when she made this. Got told off for overusing the lazer, when I played this at HMD years ago… how is ‘too much lazer’ even a thing? Also video is 🔥💃🏽🪩

Hott City is another record that should be huge. I heard Rahaan play the other side (ain’t love grand) when he first came to the uk but the B side is the banger. House before house. Italo before italo. Properly ahead of its time, sweaty dancing music.

Afternoon all. My #raveyardshift was cut short last night child #2 picking up the baton, overcooking it at a party & ending up in A&E. She’s absolutely fine, just a little shamefaced, so I’m going to finish of disco on pills list while she sleeps it off (but also literally don’t do drugs kids)
This record was huge in 1979, a chart topping, pull popping, peak time sweaty pumper. But strangely seems to have been forgotten in most of time. Don’t understand because it’s a WTF is this when you first hear it, well it was for me anyway.
