Tester. Agilist. Writer. I'm new here - I used to have separate IT & writing accounts. Trying to merge them. I do #testing & "software stuff" as TestSheepNZ, I do #booksky as Meike Torkelson. You've probably guessed that I have an identify crisis.

Not sure if it's just me, but in joining a Blue Sky, I'm really thinking really hard about what I want to get out of this platform.

For me, I don't think it's just wanting a 'copy & paste' of the good-old-days of Twitter.
Three weeks ago I bought a branch new, posh pen to journal alp my mental and emotional problems.

Today I ran out of ink. 😅
They wanted in. But one of the attendees said no. 😅

That cat is the floofiest teddy bears ever.
I helped at a Buddhist meditation event today. The neighbour's cat came to say hello... and basically was a constant figure in my meditations... 😅

Today is a great day!
The first article I ever wrote has been published in a professional magazine. "Software #accessibility includes #gender diversity" can be read in the "Testing Experience" magazine.

You can download it here: www.testingexperience.media (email address must be supplied) (1/2)

That's it. I am rescinding your diy privileges!

Perhaps you just need to pay for an electrician going forward.
So many folks wanting to downplay, change the narrative, pretend it's over.

Sorry you have long term impacts. It certainly made my sleep apnea an order of magnitude worse, to the point of needing a machine. Despite being "over" it
Sharing any details about Covid seems dicey online. Someone always wants to slide into your mentions to "correct" you with their world view.

I was thankful for being vaxxed when suffering for a week. Someone told me they weren't vaxxed but only was covid positive for an hour. Ffs.

Doing it subtly is a great step.

While I wear men's clothes, I have certainly embraced something more colorful the last few years.
And sadly, my experience is far from unique right now.

Misery does not like company on this one.
Sounds like they lost a major piece of work, so it's understandable.

But it's emotional to have the whole company welcome you on Tuesday, only to be ghosted four days later.

Add to this the number of roles I have applied for which has been disestablished during the interview process.
I think it's safe to say that the jobs market is severely turbulent in Wellington right now.

Two weeks ago, I started a contract on Tuesday. Wished coworkers well on Fri and "see you Monday".

Got home to an email that my contract was canceled.
Cochroaches scatter under the light...
Wait. It's not just me?

This is why I tend to have two of anything important.
What a game of two halves. The character is so evil.

But the actress who played her was but all accounts the complete opposite. 💜
Reminded me of being in a test cell and finding a couple of routers which supposedly weren't used. I turned them off, and half the machines in the room gave error messages.

Still worth doing it to learn something.

"Don't touch it" superstitions are in a lot of tech places.
If you're a fan of classic sci-fi comic strips like Eagle/Doomlord, you need to check out my friend's Kickstarter for The Chefs Of Death.

The proceeds of this will go to UK charity Crisis, so it's all for a good cause.

Please retweet and support if you can. 💜

Picard management tip: If you only play to your strengths you may look competent but ultimately you will stagnate. Play to your weaknesses as well. Improve with practice. There is so much more to learn.
Even seeing this in our country, NZ, where people are 'it wasn't the disaster people said it would be, did we REALLY have to take precautions?'
