My husband and I loved Foundation. Slow Horses too. Currently watching The New Look. We'll have to check out some of the other suggestions here.

Yep. She was a huge force in the iris world for decades. The Fred and Barbara Walther Cup is awarded annually by The American Iris Society to the originator of the iris variety that received the greatest number of votes in the Honorable Mention (HM) award balloting, regardless of classification.

Irises are so beautiful in mass plantings. This is 'Barbara Walther', named for the grand dame of Presby Memorial Iris Gardens in Montclair, NJ. A stunning, tall, pristine white.

I saw a stellar clump of 'Dusky Evening' at the AIS Convention this year. Wish I had room for large clumps of #irises. They are so beautiful in large single variety mass plantings. 🌱

Yes. I left the name off as I find it offensive. It is registered as 'Torched Witch'. Terrible name.

In a way the names got me into historics. I've always been a history nerd, so when a gardening obsession developed of course other interests colored it. "Historic iris" hit that sweet spot that stuck. So, I pay attention to names (history). You never know what will spark an obsession in someone.

No. Taken at this year's national Convention. I only grow historics and species.
