Still waiting for the Great Leap Forward. Music is my main love. Well music, food, the dog, photography, whisky….did I mention food?

I really enjoyed The Ballad of Wallis Island. Hope that’s ok.

Rays Jazz is more Rays broom cupboard these days ☹️. I think they still have monthly live jazz events tho.

These are the Bristol prices if you want to steel yourself…

Ah good luck! I could always forward the email I got but I suspect the decent seats have all gone, Friday should be ok!

Got mine for Bristol. I got the front row upstairs for a view of the 3d stuff. Didn’t fancy £200 for a ticket near the stage. 😀

Gosh it’s been years since I heard Bread, I think my parents had the ‘best of’ that was in every house in the 70s. They must be due a reappraisal so we can all claim that we loved them all along…

Finally caught up with 28 Years Later. Wow. I really enjoyed it, much better than I was expecting. Though that ‘what the chuff’ ending was a bit odd.

It does some interesting stuff, especially with Daniel Mays character.

This is sad news. Mersey Sound was the first poetry book I bought, and the few times our paths crossed he was lovely and funny. RIP Brian Patten
Liverpool poet Brian Patten dies at 79
His poetry often explored love and relationships and he wrote books for children including Gargling With Jelly

Today’s discovery which I guess you all know about already…a spiritual jazz/funk/experimental record from the 70s ‘A Spirit Speaks’ by The Descendants of Mike & Phoebe…put together by Bill Lee, Spike Lee’s dad. Wonderful album that is added to my digging list…

Wasn’t he the second incarnation of Alvin Stardust?

I agree. The Fall supported by the Birthday Party played the Top Rank in Reading, and someone spray painted “sometimes even pleasure heads must burn” on the fire escape door, it was there for years. I wish I had a photo of it.

Agreed. And I’m quietly hoping that Vol 2 is being thought about…

I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but booking fees just raised the price of a ticket by almost 20%.
