I am here to discuss music, literature, and condemn the appalling genocide in #Gaza. I have no interest in publicly engaging with people I cut off contact with years ago. In the words of Brian May: "In the quiet of the night
Let our candle always burn
Let us never lose
The lessons we have learned."
It is easier to find ten faults in your enemy, than one in yourself.

Something to ponder.

There's something beautifully vedic about this track:

I'm not keen on the #2020 mix of #AllThingsMustPass, stripping virtually everything Phil Spector added to the record. Like #LetItBeNaked, it doesn't do anything for the album (although only the most perverse of fans would consider Let it Be on any level with Harrison's magnum opus.)

It's not as good as Revolver, but sex is rarely as good as Revolver. Rubber Soul is like a reliable beer that sits with you during the cold Winter evenings.
The Beatles career can be divided into BRS (Before Rubber Soul) and ARS (After Rubber Soul). It wasn't their finest work, but it was a giant leap for the group, and pop rock was never the same afterwards. In my life, I love those four!

I wrote this one.
Freddie Mercury's 'Mr Bad Guy' wasn't brilliant, but it had shades of brilliance, and for queer pop, it was a step forward for both the artist and his listeners.

The 40th edition of 'Mr Bad Guy' releases on 5 December.

Just in time too, as #Pillion is bringing BDSM to the picturehouses.

Nice work, Chrissy.
It's another scene to be edited as the character of Lexi will be replaced by Sally May aka Salamander. And I bet you thought I'd post a sex scene, given BDSM is a theme in my trilogy.

Nope, it's Skylar Mohin, Jamie's daughter, talking about introducing outsiders to the Loverisque fam.

Payne nailed it with this scene.

Time for bed... kindness is the one thing you can give to someone else that enrichens your life.

Let's practice altruism and love:

One of the highlights of 2025 was stumbling onto my book in Chapters, Dublin. It takes tremendous courage to write one, yet it remains one of the most rewarding of endeavours:

Jack Lucas is an irredeemable prick. I've never understood the appeal of this movie, despite the fact The Fisher King put Gilliam back on the map, and we got 12 Monkeys out of that.

Lennon would have been a hoot - muck like yerself, Eric!
What famous person would have been great on social media if they were on it before their death?

Bookended by two vastly superior movies, Days of Heaven nevertheless showcases a story upheld by emotion and image:

Sophie Marceau really delivers as the haunted woman betrayed by father and country. The rest of The World is Not Enough is akin to the people behind the title track: garbage.
Defend a terrible film by picking something from it that saves it.

The Holdovers (Alexander Payne, 2023). A genuinely devastating piece of art that rarely gets made these days for audiences wishing bishy-bashy explosions to accompany their tubs of popcorn.

It is possible to condemn #Israel and be equally disappointed in the #IrishGovernment's decision to take #ChaimHerzog's name down from a park. Right now, I'm both.

I wasn't mentally able for the subplot of dead fathers in 2024, so I'm glad I didn't watch it back then.
I watched #TheHoldovers for the first time last night, and it is every bit as good as the reputation suggests. My second favourite American film from 2023 after Killers of Flower Moon.
