Social media should be a very small part of your life.

Read a book, play a game, watch a movie/show, build real relationships, participate in your community. Almost anything else would be a better use of your time.

Social media exists to help you find better things to do.

To celebrate yesterday's amazing Kindle release of "The Nemesis Legacy," I picked up a new dungeon-crawler roguelite and gave it a try. Fun so far. It's dice-based, so there's a lot of RNG at first, but unlocks and effective strats manifested fairly soon.

As an author, release days are always special. There's something about knowing, all over the world, all sorts of people are experiencing (and hopefully enjoying) the thing you created. So much goes into all of that but, with a lot of work, and the occasional blessing, it happens.
RELEASE DAY! - The Kindle edition of "The Nemesis Legacy" is now available worldwide via Amazon!

I'm really glad Apple is planning to put all their Gen AI garbage behind a subscription. It's going to make it so much easier to ignore all of it and send a clear message to them as a customer that I want no part of any of that inherently corrupt and wasteful nonsense. 🤔

I've done a tremendous amount of work, and made many personal and professional sacrifices, for the sake of the books I've written and published over the years. I am also extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to do any of that, which is something I will never forget. 🤔

I will never apologize for creating an optimistic vision for humanity's future. People need to see the good we're capable of as much as they need to be warned and scolded about our failures. Yes, there is value in showing the bad, I do so all the time; however, good is the goal.

While working on the official compendium for The Nod/Wells Timelines these past few days, I realized that I'm rapidly approaching the 100,000 word mark for that project. Still a ways to go but it's great to be as far along as I am, and seeing everything coming together so nicely.

I've given it some thought and I'm definitely a fan of Amazon requiring authors and publishers using KDP to verify their identity. [1/2]

Thanks for bearing with me as I continue to transition marketing posts over to the new account: @thenwt.bsky.social

My goal is still to drastically cut back on that sort of thing here, with only the occasional repost from the other account when something new happens, but it's definitely a WIP. 🙂

Booksky is an excellent resource for both readers and authors and, arguably, one of the best reasons to be on this platform if you're a book lover or creator. That said, there are many subtle nuances to using it effectively that aren't immediately apparent at first glance. This article can help! 💙📚

A reader who bought a copy of "The Nod/Wells Timelines - Volume 1" from Walmart sent me this pic of the "get stuff free" offers that came with it. Can't help thinking those selections were very intentional. Gotta love algorithms. 🤣 See what you get! 🙂
