We lost family members at that school.

At a school where if you made it through, you weren't called a Graduate, you were called a Survivor. Let that sink in.

Sending my love to everyone who needs it today. Please reach out for support if you are in need.

Both of my parents attended the Kamloops Indian Residential School where the 215 were rediscovered.

Wounded Knee is a dark stain upon our nation’s history. We must remember it for what it truly was, not for what white nationalists would have it be.
A screenshot of two X posts. The first post is from Tom Morello (@tmorello), timestamped 7 hours ago, with a profile picture showing a person in a colorful outfit. The text reads: "What the f*ck is wrong with these people. Wounded Knee was a bloodthirsty massacre of Lakota Sioux, including dozens of women and children." The second post is from Secretary of War Pete (@username), timestamped 9 hours ago, with a profile picture of a man in a suit. The text reads: "Under my direction, the soldiers who fought at the Battle of Wounded Knee will keep their medals. This decision is final. Their place in history is settled." The second post includes an image of a man in a suit standing in front of an American flag and an official seal, appearing to give a formal statement.

The Assembly of First Nations annual general assembly wraps up today in Winnipeg.

Among the talking points was an emergency press conference held by a First Nation in Manitoba, and a discussion on the repatriation of historical artifacts.

Where are the hard-working Americans who screamed, “They’re stealing our jobs”?

You’re getting your wish. Immigrant workers aren’t showing up, and farm owners are hiring.

BC is the second-largest exporter of softwood lumber in the world.

We’ll keep fighting for workers and push for a long-term softwood deal.

Climate change is a far bigger contributor to food price inflation than federal climate policies in Canada. At some point, even the most blinkered Conservative partisan is going to have to face up to this politically inconvenient truth, @maxfawcett.bsky.social writes.
Canada’s Conservatives can’t quit their grocery price politicking
Climate change is obviously driving up the cost of food. Why can’t Canada’s Conservatives admit it?

Real pride. Real partnership. Big smiles with Chief and Council of the Lake Babine First Nation, as we sign the expansion of their Woodland License.

This is what true reconciliation looks like. It’s a powerful thing, and an honour to be part of.

Wildfires are a reality for people in Northeast BC.

Yet with their endurance & the work of the BC Wildfire Service, they always bounce back. Now leaders in wildfire innovation, clean energy.

Taking a moment at the BCWS Base to discuss some of the wisdom I’ve learned from them.

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day!

I spent it in Vancouver, celebrating with Joan Phillip, Phyllis Webstad, and others.

This is such an important day. We need to set an example for our children that Indigenous culture is something to be cherished, and that we all belong together.
