Interesting. Outside, on the complete opposite site of the house, without any visual, you still get a good 5GHz reception when 2.4GHz is long gone. It seems to bounce off the buildings in the neighborhood. Enough for my phone to still download with 50mbit/s. 5GHz has way higher power output tho.

Replaced this Freifunk Access Point with something more modern and put it up higher. Next time I'm here I'll replace the cable which clearly isn't suited for outdoor use.
