Absolute banger from Mascherano here:

“There’s nothing stronger in soccer than a player’s conviction. When your players are convinced where to go & which road… tactics don’t exist anymore, nothing else exists. For me, is about joining them in that conviction and make the less mistakes”

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!

I’m fortunate enough to be on the coverage pre/post game in English & Spanish + sideline for the Spanish broadcast of the Inter Miami vs NYC game tomorrow.

If you have any questions, let me know! Happy to do a Q&A.

The days & games you dream of 🤓📖🎤

On to Fort Lauderdale! Miami vs NYC 🔜

Cincinnati (The city) & TQL were awesome as usual. Can’t wait to be back next year to my favorite stadium.

Sorry it ended this way Cincy fans. You are great!

Mascherano has been AWESOME.
Everyone's talking about Inter Miami's attack, and rightfully so. But in four playoff games so far, they're allowing 1.01 xG against per game and just 0.75 goals against. Both would have been good for by far the best defense in the MLS regular season.

Incredible job by Javier Mascherano.

Noah Allen tells me postgame that he’s ok, it was just cramps and out of precaution. He had a very long trip during the FIFA break.

He’s going to be 100% good for the Conference Final.

I don’t think a lot of coaches would have had the stones to leave Luis Suarez on the bench tonight.

Mascherano’s growth as a coach throughout the season has been pretty impressive to watch.

Last night's win over Uruguay speaks to the depth and belief Mauricio Pochettino has instilled up and down the #USMNT.

In his words: “Let’s be realistic,” Pochettino told the team. “And do the impossible.”

If Berhalter is on the bench during a clutch set piece moment during the WC. I would seriously bring him in just to take it.

If Sebastian is on the field, nobody should even approach the ball.
Let’s collectively agree to just not go back to Christian Pulisic on set piece duty, ok?

As part of the shift, the 2027–28 MLS regular season will kick off in mid-to-late July 2027 and conclude with the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs in May 2028.

MLS will observe a midwinter break from mid-December through early February, with no league matches scheduled in January.

New from me:

A big interview with Mauricio Pochettino as the #USMNT gets to work in Philadelphia.

On the team's progress so far, his values, and his praise for the Union's impressive contributions to the national team player pool:

Quick Mascherano story:

{Off camera} between doing the same interview, first in English and then in Spanish. Told him his English has gotten so much better, more fluid, almost perfect.

He smiled, almost embarrassed thanked me and said:

Happy for Mascherano. Go ask Tata how brutally impossible is that job.

He has been an absolute gentleman every game, always available to talk, always respectful, always honest, always open even for a quick chat or inquiry. You have to love that from a coach.

Also getting better w/ time on the job.

I love you, admin.

Keep letting BJ cook. The future is bright.

Reinforcements at CB & Winger might be needed though, imo.
Brutal for Nashville that such a great season is ending with such a hollow whimper.

They've been absolutely carved apart here. 13 goals conceded in four games against Miami.

Between Minnesota v Seattle & Cincinnati v Columbus my heart can’t take much more.

But of course we still have Miami v Nashville 🙃
November 9, 2025 at 1:11 AM
I don’t understand how that Columbus goal wasn’t offside. Yes, camera angles can fool everyone. But also, the lines on the grass are a thing too that we all can see.

Of course it’s Thomas (!) who misses it.

What a series.
